This is our story board of our sponsorship ad.
Sponsor ads are known to only be a few seconds long and are in order to deliver the message quickly, they are much shorter than your average advert but still get the point across.

We decided on having a zooming shot on a still image similar to the ones used in our adverts, this will link them directly in with our final outcomes. And the viewer will relate the sponsorship advertisement to our sponsorship ad.
The edit used will be a zoom to black out, as this would have usually cut straight to another advert.

The music used again was very simplistic and has no lyrics so therefore the voice over is clearer to understand.
Kettle & Co are trying to promote there products by supporting a programme of some relevance, for example 'Hollydale' our improvised soap opera.

Sponsorship Adverts

This part of our blog will contain the research and planning in relation to our sponsorship advert. Here we will show a few examples of sponsorship adverts, a small storyboard for our sponsorship advert and an evaluation of our sponsorship advert.

A sponsorship advert is much smaller in duration compared to a standard advertisement, and it will much more to the point. The advertisement will be sponsoring a certain television programme, this certain television programme will be funded by our product. Sponsorship sequences always have a tag line by them, this will anchor the sequence making it a noticeable as am advertisement. A lot of sponsorship advertisements use graphics and sound, this enhances the message of selling the appropriate product.

The average time for the sponsorship sequence is 10 seconds, clearly we can see by this time average that this type of advert is extremely brief. As I have said before, sponsorship adverts are straight to the point and have two main targets. The first is to make sure that the addressee knows what company is sponsoring, and the second main target is to make it clear what the programme actually is. Once these two main targets are essential when making a sponsorship advert and we will always think about these when creating our own sponsorship advert.

Sponsorship Sequence Example One

The first advertisement we analysed was from Scottish television. The short advertisement sponsors a programme called "Highlands." The sponsor is "The Peoples Postcode Lottery," it lasts around 5 seconds which highlights the point of the sequence being very quick and to the point.

The voice over used is of a well spoken middle aged women, this may have been chosen for a number of reasons. For example, the target audience of the programme may be of a female origin, and therefore using a female voice in the voice over will be effective as it is of the same gender as the target audience.

The music is very peaceful and relaxing in this video, it sets up the scene of a tranquil setting with wildlife and beautiful surroundings. The voice over clearly states of who the sponsor is and what programme they are sponsoring, in this case it the programme called "Highlands." The sponsor for this advert "The peoples postcode lottery." The content of the sponsorship advert is very clearly stated, and doesn't use puns or any other technique sometimes seen in your standard advert. Sponsorship adverts don't really need to use these techniques, standard adverts are tying to sell a certain product. On the other hand, sponsorship adverts aim is to simply to tel the audience who sponsors the programme and a reminder of their product.
